So, I have been tagged, and I am going to "cheat." Not that there is really anything to cheat against in this relativistic internet world. What I am going to do is post two lists for you. One list will focus on children's literature, particularly books that I read when I was little (although I still go back and read some of these). The other list will be more "adult" books. Why? Because my mom was afraid that anyone who read my one list would be convinced that I am stuck in the world of juvenile literature.
"Children's Fare"
1. One book that changed your life: Little House on the Prairie (the whole series) by Laura Ingalls Wilder - not because the content is so astonishingly profound, but because this was the first set of books that truly captivated my imagination and got me addicted to reading
2. One book that you’ve read more than once: Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell
3. One book I’d want on a desert island: The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald
4. One book that made me laugh: Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish
5. One book that made me cry: Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls
6. One book that you wish you had written: The Complete Tales and Poems of Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne
7. One book you wish had never been written: A Day With Barney by _________. I have decided that it is best to delete the name to protect the guilty. ; )
8. One book that you are currently reading: Peter Rabbit's Giant Storybook by Beatrix Potter (I read this to Caroline almost daily)
9. One book that you’ve been meaning to read: Farmer Giles of Ham: The Rise and Wonderful Adventures of Farmer Giles, Lord of Tame, Count of Worminghall, and King of the Little Kingdom by J. R. R. Tolkien
More "Adult" Fare
1. One book that changed your life: God's Passion for His Glory by John Piper, containing the entire text for the End for Which God Created the World by Jonathan Edwards
2. One book that you’ve read more than once: Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
3. One book I’d want on a desert island: The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky, though it would probably be better to have the Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook
4. One book that made me laugh: I don't remember if I actually laughed out loud reading this, but I know that it caused me to smile much, and that is Twenty Years After by Alexandre Dumas
5. One book that made me cry: the Simarillion by J. R. R. Tolkien; there is such beauty and pain that I can rarely read more than a few pages at a time.
6. One book that you wish you had written: The Goldsworthy Trilogy by Graeme Goldsworthy
7. One book you wish had never been written: The Penguin History of Europe by J. M. Roberts (it's pretty bad when you have to edit your own text book.)
8. One book that you are currently reading: The Imitation of Christ by Thomas à Kempis
9. One book that you’ve been meaning to read: The Healing Power of Stories by Daniel Taylor and Novum Testamentum Graece
Now, I tag Mom, Gabi, and Warren

Roberts was NOT THAT BAD. He had issues, but he wasn't *that* bad.
But I agree with most of your other choices. :-)
