Although this was a shorter trip than usual, it was packed full of work, fun, and fellowship. So in no particular order, random bits from Lakeshore:
Daniel or Charlie? Maybe Danly, Chardan, Charlie Daniels, Caleb or Cayla. Total identity crisis. Tyvek sticker. Demopo. Guitar Hero. Ultimate Frisbee on the beach at sunset. SnoBalls. Fried shrimp. Tom and Linda. Michigan teens. Tarzan. Mudding. Framing. Sanding. Wrapping. Nail Guns. 10. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. More shrimp. Hurrican straps and lots and lots and lots of nails. Drywall. Regeneration, justification and sanctification. Reciprocating saw. Covenants. Improvised chisel. Milwaukee drill. Sleeping in a metal trailer during one of the most intense thunderstorms of my life. Floundering. Living drywall dust statues. Chryius, Tiffany and Saith Davis. Hens in strollers. Humidity. Heat. Ephesians 4:31-32. Don, Greg, James, Jamie, Miss Lynn. Fireworks. Fireworks gone awry. Quiddler. Sweat. Wasp nests, many of them. Ridiculous: me guarding Charlie. Tiger Gatorade. Exhausted but joyful.
For a serious note: One of the most beautiful things I experienced on this trip was to hear James and John pray during the Sunday morning worship service. James is a former trucker who now spends his time helping Greg and Don, and John is an older man at Lakeshore Baptist. Neither of them (as far as I know) have had a formal theological education, no seminary degree. And yet, the Word of God was demonstrated to be powerful to teach the believer as their prayers reflected an inborn knowledge of God as they spoke forth praise for His sovereignty, love, continued cared and the glory of His name in all things. It was such a testimony to the mercy and grace of God to Don and Lakeshore Baptist as the Word of God has born fruit through Don's faithful preaching of the gospel.
